Au Revoir Paris 2024
A cloudless dawn greeted our final morning in the French capital.
We took the scenic route to the Gare du Nord. A demonstration in the Place de la Republique made us wonder if the Metro might have been a better option?!
The Eurostar was 20 minutes late in leaving and made an unscheduled stop at Lille to change train crew.
A smooth transit from St Pancras to Paddington for the 1532 train home. At Gloucester the train was held up by a guard stuck on the M5 because their train connection had broken down. Hey ho!
We really enjoyed reconnecting with Paris, a city we know so well but delighted in seeing it all over again in 2024.
I’m not sure when The Olympic organisers reclaim their iconic signage. In 2012 the logos on the Mound in Edinburgh came down very quickly. Paris 2024 seems to be keeping theirs for as long as possible?
