Another fine mess….
Another overcast but dry day. A morning walk around the village to lull the wee one to sleep (eventually successful) took us past an unusual gate entrance (see extra). A blurring of reality and fiction?
After lunch the Lancaster contingent headed home and we went for an afternoon drive. Part of our route took us to Ulverston - much bigger than I imagined. And also the birthplace of Stan Laurel. Someone who created wonderful fiction.
No blue plaque on the house but a statue outside the Coronation Theatre ( known as The Coro) and close to the Laurel and Hardy museum.
A trip round the coast to Barrow in Furness with views of the 14th century Piel Castle looming in the evening mist before heading “home”.
