Long Way For A Sing Song
A lazy start to the day gave little inkling of what was to come. Mrs S and I enjoyed breakfast and a slow paced “getting ready”. Once Sam arrived home we set off, around 1:00pm, heading up the A30 to Exeter and our first stop Ikea. A leisurely walk around buying stuff we didn’t know we needed before the inevitable meatballs.
We then headed for Porlock, a little further up the M5 before turning west across Exmoor. Foggy and dark it made for an interesting journey but we arrived on time for the event.
“Songs of the Sea”, performed by the Lynmouth Shanty Crew in Porlock Village Hall. Organised by a friend of Epic, Sandra, the proceeds from last night and tonight will go to support Epic GIGability and Lynmouth Sailing Club, a great evening, including the unexpected address to the 100+ audience to let them know what Epic is about.
Mrs S and I then headed back the way we came, the fog was thicker, the night darker, no lights and the nightlife, ponies, deer and foxes more evident.
Still on the road at midnight it’s been a long day.
