Big Day for the USA
We planned to meet Mike around 10. Hubby and I had prayer time, showered, ate breakfast and packed everything for the car. It took two luggage carts to empty the room. Mike’s polling place was in the nearby fire department. The line moved along steadily. He treated us to lunch at a renovated cafe in his general neighborhood. Each of us was pleased with our meal. Since hubby is under the weather (COVID test was negative), Renee ordered him a detox smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe. It was conveniently located on our route out of town. Oh my, not sure how he finished it. She is very thoughtful though and assured him it would help him get well. We took Mike home and headed to a routine stop, Yoder’s Country store. Hubby and I will have a slice of carrot cake as we watch the votes get tabulated. I also bought a few Christmas gifts and a treat for the grands. Hubby looked up info on the Buc-ee’s. It only has 120 fuel pumps; he miscounted by eight based on the configuration on the side of the 50,000 sq. ft building where he stood. I called my mother as we drove from Tennessee into Virginia this afternoon. She had no news to relay but I could tell she was lonely. We’ll visit her when we get back home. We should get to our final hotel by 7:00 (or later if dinner takes more than 30 minutes). My stomach is in knots so I doubt I will want much dinner. It is rainy and we have too much traffic around us. The election results are also concerning. It will be good to get home tomorrow and have all this behind us. We have traveled 1,274 miles so far and have a total of 339 more miles to drive to get home. Poor hubby. Wishing you a stress free evening. Stay safe.
