Light and Shade - Spectacular Glencoe

A long drive back from Loch Carron to Edinburgh - it took about 5 1/2 hours. Drove through some spectacular landscapes - the mixed weather really made the mountains shine.

Even more amazing, and it nearly put me off the road with fright, I was dive-bombed (slight exaggeration) by a Hercules aeroplane while driving through Glen Shiel. Quite extraordinary.

Even after that, Glen Coe didn't fail to get my heart racing. I pulled off the road to grab this shot - and to stand and stare in awe. Minutes later the rain was pouring down, the clouds had descended and there was little to see. It really is the most magical place I've ever been.
