Damp leaves

History was made today with Trump winning the US elections for the second time, and this time as a convicted felon. I was woken up at half past midnight with our alarm key panel in the bedroom beeping (not sure why) and I never got back to sleep again so I have had the most awful night's sleep. Which meant I was able to keep up to date with the votings as the results came in, and it was clear quite early on that Trump was winning. The way I understand it, the main reason he got the majority of votes is because the voters believe he is the right person to restore their economy and therefore enable people to have a better standard of living.

Despite my lack of sleep I have had a busy day. It was yet another grey and misty day, but today felt damp and a bit colder too. I had my usual group golf lesson but I think I have been playing too much golf lately (!!) as my left wrist is rather sore and feels strained. I could not really hit the ball properly today because of it, so now I must just rest it.

I had a few errands to do today, including going back to the post office where my parcel had finally been delivered as I requested - at last! I had notes to make for Gavin and Fiona, as Gavin is also away for one night tomorrow so Fiona is looking after Xena. There is always a lot to sort when I am away from home.

Then finally I managed to get my packing done. I am only away for 3 nights and do not need much clothing but my suitcase is full of camera equipment like my sturdy tripod, gimbal, bean bag, chargers etc. In addition I am taking a fair amount of food. When you have dietary allergies it is always a consideration when going to another country, and while I am sure I can get the necessary foods there, as anyone who cannot eat gluten knows, most of it tastes awful unless you get the right brand - so I have packed the right brands of oat milks and gluten free products!

It's a very early start tomorrow for my 5am taxi pick up. I don't think I will have much down time when I am there, and I don't even know if there is wifi, as we are staying in a self catering lodge, so I hope I can still post blips every day.

Some soggy leaves from my garden!
