Bison at the Indiana Welcome Center

Monday
We met Laura for breakfast before starting on our journey home. It was a grey dismal day for our drive home, with periods of rain. Coming back we lost an hour, since Wisconsin is in Central Time Zone rather than Eastern. Add to that, the fact that we put the clocks back this weekend, so it got dark so early. However, we arrived home safe and sound, so that’s all that’s really important. My blip was taken at the relatively new Welcome Center in northern Indiana. The bison are there to bring awareness to the herd of bison at nearby Kankakee Sands. In October 2016, the Nature Conservancy introduced a herd of 23 bison to its Kankakee Sands prairie restoration project. Today more than 90 bison graze on 1,100 acres of prairie.
