Chattering Class
I could hear the kingfisher calling out long before I saw it. I was almost surprised that I did. But there it was, clear as day, sitting on a branch in the willow tree.
I think it has returned because the green duckweed covering the water surface in the inlet over the summer has dissipated, allowing the kingfisher to catch fish in there. I hope I will see it more often now. I think this is a female, but I couldn't see the chest to check for a brown belt.
