Are beavers back in the River Forth? I think the evidence is pretty clear. There's been a family here for a while and there were kits earlier in the year. Not everyone is pleased but I'm thrilled. They aren't going to dam the Forth here in Stirling where it is still quite wide and tidal but they will do a lot of good in the tributaries. I've never seen one but some neighbours have. Imagine having such beneficial creatures right in the town centre. Marvellous. 

The gloomy weather persists. Heavy cloud but there is a bit more movement in the air so maybe it will disperse. That would be nice. 

Today is my younger son's birthday. This afternoon we're all gathering at his house for a family celebration. He is providing the meal and I'm sure there'll be cake. Happy birthday E.
