Fossil Forest
Best viewed Large.
On the way to the camera club I stopped off for a couple of hours at Hanover Point the fossil hunters paradise. On this beautiful evening the very low tide had exposed a huge expanse of beach attracting many visitors to explore the rock pools.
Amongst the rocks in this view looking towards The Needles is a fossilised Forest and if you know how to find them many huge dinosaur footprints. These are the oldest exposed rocks on the Island.
Using a 20mm wide angle lens I had to wait for quite a while before the people who magically appear as soon as the tripod is up to move out of shot. Still it was a pleasure just to be there on this magical summer evening.
