Bunch of Bits #2

I'm sure you've all been wondering how that project I started a month ago has been going. No? I should move on now unless you're particularly interested in some technical aspects of guitar building. I'm conscious this could be a bit boring for most people.

I had planned to strip and refinish the body but I've decided I quite like that shiny sunburst finish. I have had to do a bit of serious woodwork on it. I'd expected that the Fender licensed neck I already had would have fitted straight in to the new body but it didn't. This meant I had to do some tricky work to enlarge the neck pocket by just a few millimetres. Once that was done I fitted the tuning machine heads and fixed the bridge so I could put the outer couple of strings on to check it all lined up correctly. It's spot on, I'm pleased to say because this is the most important joint.

From this point I need a few little bits. Most of these will hardly be seen but I have to decide the scratchplate colour. I have a choice of white or tortoise for that so that will change the look. The scratchplate needs to have lots of electric bits fitted too so we'll see how that goes!
