I Watch the Birds Fly South Across the Autumn Sky

We got quite excited this morning when we saw something we hadn't seen for weeks. It was the sun struggling to break through the clouds. Oh well, nice try. Then, just as the sun went down the light came through beautifully and I grabbed my camera to find something to photograph in it. Just up the road I saw that the copse of trees was lit up but it's hard to see it over the roadside hedge. I had to use a gate to get a bit of height and how good that a flock of gulls came through looking very bright against the dark sky
