Ofrenda

Today I picked up the small skull I painted last week at the Dia de los Muertos festival. I'm very pleased how it turn out even without my reading glasses and my shaky hands... lol.  I have made a small ofrenda in my room. I have a picture of my dad and a necklace of my granny's. I also have a couple small wooden utensils that a good friend made who has passed.
I will keep the ofrenda up all year.
Today was snowy most of the day but not a lot of accumulation. The interstate was closed between here and Cheyenne due to an accident. I would hate to be a trucker on that interstate in the winter, not to mention just driving a car in bad weather. It is common to have closures due to snow, ice and wind.
It's a good day for kale, potato, sausage soup. It was a suggestion by one of my favorite students on Friday and I thought a perfect soup to make today.
