Three Teas Inside Kendal, Cumbria
On an afternoon trip to Grange over Sands today, we experienced an odd phenomenon: it wasn’t sunny.
And it is always sunny in Grange over Sands. However, it would seem that even Grange is not impervious to the anticyclonic gloom currently crushing the UK ‘neath the yoke of a single indefatigable shade of ethereal grey.
Regardless, it has been a lovely day. I gave Big Blue a much deserved and needed clean inside and out, receiving the first cadged brew from a friendly neighbour (aka. friendbour) whilst our children ran off together to play football.
Post-lunch we headed off up the hill to collect Uncle A and my niece and nephew for a run out in Big Blue and a scoot along the prom at the aforementioned sun-absented, Grange-over-Sands. The wee cousins all tend to get on really well and my two are particularly protective of the youngest one, so my Youngest took his hand down the hill. A couple of hours of scooting and playing later we retired to their home where the second - and strongest - third party brew was extremely well-received and the children run amok, whilst we fought the urge to fall asleep.
We couldn’t linger long as a couple of supplies were needed from Asda for tea, but once we got back our friendbours knocked on for the wee ones, so we popped over where the brew hat-trick (decapitated (sic) this time) was completed and accompanied by a nice chat.
Eventually, we were back home and I inflicted a Pad Thai on us all, which was surprisingly not only edible, but really tasty too.
Lovely day.
