The Gloom..

There's been no sun for so long, one of the news programs has started referring to it as The Gloom, which is both apt and somehow quite amusing. No sun today, M. a bit the worse for wear after entertaining nephew +GF. I was driving so didn't drink over the meal & suffered less today. Copious amounts of ironing done; batch of cheese straws made, also a carrot and banana cake which seems to have worked out okay. I've not done one before and didn't totally trust the list of ingredients but put my faith in Mary Berry and first slice is nice, light and not too sweet.
