Remembrance Sunday
Many thanks to blippers who've followed our adventures in Canada, and apologies that I've had very little time to reciprocate. Special thanks for the good wishes for our journey home, which was straightforward. In fact our transatlantic fight was almost half an hour early into Heathrow, although our connection to Newcastle was a little late.
We normally use the local light rail "Metro" service for trips to/from the airport, but a signifcant part of that was closed today for engineering work - so we had to wait for the bus replacement service which was rather late in coming. Having missed seeing our local Remembrance parade as a result of being on the plane at the time, we were pleased to see these three lovely ex-soldiers wearing their medals, waiting with us at the bus stop. So I was still able to get a blip to commemorate the sacrifices made for us over many years by so many.
