Do This In Remembrance Of Me......
We came together this morning at FBC to worship and praise God for all He has done for us and especially, today, to remember and honor Christ's death on the cross which paid the terrible price for our sin that we could never pay through the observance of the Lord's Supper or Communion. We began our service with a congregational song, followed by the welcome from Pastor Wes and the recognition of the veterans in our service this morning. After the recognition, the choir, orchestra and all our talented accompanists presented a heart-felt rendition of "When I Don't Know What To Do" with Gabe handling the solo parts. The congregation joined hearts and voices in a few more songs before Pastor Wes took us into John 20:19-31 where we find the10 fearful disciples locked in a room for fear of what the future holds(Judas is already dead and Thomas is not with them) but suddenly Jesus is standing in their midst to show them the scars of the wounds that purchased salvation for all who will receive it by grace through faith in Jesus. Pastor Wes spoke to us about the perspective Jesus gives us, the peace He brings to us when we trust Him, the purpose He gives to our lives when we share the good news about Jesus and the power He gives us to accomplish the mission He has tasked us with. Pastor Wes had much more to say about all this on the Live-stream,which would be well worth your time to watch. We ended our service with the observance of the communion. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day and we are extremely proud of and grateful to all those who have served or are now serving in the military. The US is, indeed, the home of the free because of the brave!
