Birds galore
Yesterday promised to be a chilly one so l wrapped up warmly and set off with fellow birders and blipper Lesley Alsford for the Kent coast. We were going to 2 different reserves - the Oare Marshes and then a 40 minute drive inland towards Canterbury to Stodmarsh.
Well, l just loved the Oare Marshes set on the estuary of the Swale river out from Faversham. The tide was out so lots of mud flats and therefore lots of wading birds, all of which l have seen before but perhaps not altogether and never have l seen Spoonbills in the UK. Stodmarsh further inland was never going by live up to the sights and scenery of Oare and l was pleased to hop on the bus and head home at the end of the day.
I have included a collage in extras in a clockwise direction curlew (as in main), red shank, Spoonbills, lapwing, white egret.
