WN Bull

Paul Daley had a good piece in today’s Guardian about Australia’s failure to officially acknowledge the 70 Australians who joined the International Brigades to fight in the Spanish Civil War. We also fail to acknowledge the frontier wars, but that’s another story.

One Australian joined Franco’s forces - the millionaire bad boy scion of the WN Bull funeral dynasty, established 1892. It was the Ireland Spain religious connection. WN Bull has looked after two friends, one a former Loreto girl, very lapsed, the other K’s friend L whose funeral was this time last year.
