The seasons move on
Although I have photographed autumn leaves today, there are relatively few left in this neck of the woods.
One of my beech trees is hanging on to a few leaves, but the other is bare already.
I was at the hospital this morning. Margret had a bad night with little sleep. The consultant came and was charming and helpful. He prescribed paracetamol to take regularly because she has a painful neck and a nurse last night refused to give her any. (Beats me!)
When I came home it was already 2pm so I quickly had a cuppa and an apple before driving to Wark for a walk by the river. There was a Remembrance Service going on by the village green and school children attended it.
The river is very low at the moment, lower than I have seen it all year. I was able to cross dry stones to Gold Island. The trees are all bare now and the light disappeared very quickly. However, it was lovely to walk there.
I met a man with a flat coated retriever. I have a friend with one so we chatted. This dog has been hard to train, just like my friend's. The man previously had a golden retriever who was easy to train and behaved very well.
Tonight it is the Tynedale Photo Group so it's early meal and out of the door!
PS The photo group was terrific with images from two of our members who are "joined at the hip" for their photo outings!
Margret now knows that she has a deep vein thrombosis and has started on heparin, and she has an infection, so needs antibiotics. It never rains but..........
