Body in the boot...
A busy morning with a haircut for me (just the fourth this year. Just as well Linda isn't relying on my custom to keep a roof over her head!)
Whilst this was happening, D was fixing the new dog grille to the car. The one in the Toureg was a bit of a nuisance as it had to be removed to fold the back seats down. This guard folds up out of the way so the seats can be folded when needed, without any hassle.
After lunch Alan had an appointment with the hygeinist. I've mentioned before that in order to get him to relax enough for her to work on his mouth, he gets a dose of liquid diazepam. Well this time round it had proved impossible to get hold of. Our GP practice, the local chemist as well as Boots in Perth have all tried to get some, but it appears to no longer be available. After much searching, an alternative was found (can't remember the name of it) and a suitably chilled, Alan, Jordan and D headed off. He returned still chilled and the new sedative was a great success as the hygeinist managed to remove lots of plaque and give his teeth a good clean.
I stayed home desperately trying to come up with ideas for Christmas gifts and failing miserably! Not happy! My mood was further lowered by a call from the furniture store advising our sofas will not now be delivered until the 10th January (at the earliest!) Apparently there's a delay with the supply of the fabric. Sigh. I am so disappointed and so is D but on the bright side (there's always one of those :-) it means we can relax and get Christmas and New Year out the way without worrying about food and drink spillages. I'm not waiting till then though to get the art work back on the walls (the place feels so bare without it!) so will go ahead over the next few days and decide what's being moved where.
And having bought my outfit for the Murder Mystery night at the end of the month, this evening we've organised David's. He's a racing driver but as the MM night is set in the 1930s we couldn't just buy a modern racing outfit, so a white boiler suit has been purchased, fabric pens to add chest stripes, a Gulf badge to sew on, vintage goggles, a cotton skull cap and a fake twirly vintage moustache . Oh and a massive inflatable bottle of champagne and a laurel neck wreath :D Thanks for the help with that LeeAnne :-)
I am laughing out loud at the very thought of him dressed up in all that clobber! :D
Apparently it's 39 years since Echo and the Bunnymen released their album Songs to Learn and Sing. A favourite. Especially THIS :-)
