MINE!
That is the attitude that this Kereru seemed to be taking when it flew into the trees along the edge of the back 'lawn', and alit upon the berries of one of the many Nikau on the edges of our small piece of land. I did see it eat at least two berries, before dashing off to get my camera. When I got back, it was just perching as seen in my photo. It displayed no concern about my movement, and remained there for about a half hour.
Kereru are important in the propagation of Nikau, as they fly long distances at times, taking the seeds into a new area , or even a well established one.
The antibiotics are making a difference, but I'll stay off work this week to give myself time to recover.
