Armistice Day
Today, being 11 November is Armistice Day, named because the treaty for peace at the end of WW1 was signed at 11am on 11 November, the eleventh month.
We went as usual to the war memorial in Loughton but were a little lte this yer: Mr MC had a blood test this morning ad had to wait rather a long time.
When we got there all action had stopped of course but that made it easier to take photos! My main blip is some of the knitted poppies decorating the arch, red for humans, mauve for animals. In Extras is a collage of the monument, some of the remembrance wreathes and the arch in front of a rather splendid tree.
