Starting on the bed

After a lazy morning with left over palette à la diable for lunch, I decided to look at repairing the part of the bed downstairs, damaged by a friend of my son's.
It is in pieces after being transported back from Brantôme (about 400km away) up to here.
For now I've glued a split cross-member with white PVC wood glue, then used some clamps bought in a set from Lidl, to hold it together while it sets.
After that, I have another piece of wood about the same size (I need to sand the side I'll glue), which I'll use to re-enforce the damaged cross-member. After gluing that on it, I'll screw it all together. Hopefully once the bed is assembled in Emma's bedroom it won't collapse with her in it!

It is poignant as this was my MIL's old bed frame.

In other news... I recently bought a new voice over microphone for my videos. After messing about with the settings, I wasn't 100% happy with the output. There is a lot to set up really.
Rémy came home at 1.30pm as his lessons had been cancelled until the end of the day, so he helped a bit with the bed (I think he feels guilty about it being broken by one of his mates)., then had a look at my new mic with me.
I had forgotten that he has a similar but better quality microphone, so he suggested we swap. He only uses his now to talk to his friends on, so isn't bothered too much about the quality. So sort of reluctantly I now have a new different mic, which actually sounds better. Still some ajustments needed to be done, but not as many as with the other one.

Now I need to get used to doing voice overs, which isn't easy for someone with a lisp and a stammer...

He also told me about an online AI tool called Chat GPT which I had never heard of. He has been selling some of his surplus clothes on Vinted, so has used this tool to create relevant hashtags for his sales. I wonder if I could create hashtags for my Youtube videos... We'll have to see...
