Revisit

Yesterday the art group was cancelled but I painted at home and made some alterations to last week’s painting. I was not happy with the position of the building and so I lowered the land on which it was sitting to make the building more prominent. I had a bit of time left and decided to play with a couple of paintings which I was not happy with. This painting of the village was rather dull and insipid so I decided to see what it would look like if I went bold with the colours of the houses. The view is not now naturalistic but I quite like the effect. Today, there was no French conversation so after the market shopping, lunch and the tennis lesson I cleaned all the outside windows of the veranda, a tricky job as they are difficult to access from the inside due to a metal barrier close to the glass and far too high above the ground to clean from the outside.
