Just a Titmouse
Another day that got away from me and found me going out late in the afternoon to find a shot. Gusty winds today and temps barely getting to 50 F so not as inviting as some of the recent days. At least the sun was getting low and I could find some even light on the birds, avoiding direct sun light. I would normally not try to shoot a bird against such a busy background but in this instance I think it works, especially as there is some late fall color peeking through the branches. And of course, the Tufted Titmouse is a solid 10 on the Cute-o-Meter! Best viewed in large to see all the tiny little feathers.
Hubs and I had appointments this morning with a new dermatologist for annual checks. Neither of us really cared for him - his exam was very quick and not anywhere as thorough as we'd have liked. We won't be going back. It's been hard to find a dermatologist who is on Hubs health insurance unfortunately. I think a lot of them prefer to do cosmetic procedures which are cash transactions and don't go through insurance, which I can understand ... but still... Anyway, we both had a couple of little things removed and will get biopsy results in a week or so - nothing to worry about.
I took a Qigong class today for the first time. I wasn't sure if I was enjoying it at first, but after I figured out what I was doing, I found it really enjoyable. I would consider it kind of a Tai Chi for klutzes (which definitely describes me.) I'm trying to really embrace my aging body and accept that the things I did in my 20's, 30's and even 40's aren't what I can (or probably should) do today. My body needs different things now - it's still about being strong, but in a different way. Aging is definitely a journey.
I scored some dark with cayenne, cinnamon and dried cherries and it's amazing! I am stashing a good supply to get me through the coming months of crazy.
