Deck the halls
After a chilly and slightly uncomfortable night I left K’s house early and arrived in Covent Garden 45 mins before my meeting. Cursed with my wheely-suitcase, into which I’d managed to get Penny’s gift of a plant pot, I was fairly encumbered all day. A definite plus was that the Covent Garden hotel is opposite the legendary Monmouth Coffee so I had a flat white and a croissant at an inside table before crossing for my meeting.
It was an interesting and engaging meeting which may or may not lead to something.
Enjoyed seeing the Christmas tree going up in the lobby of the Covent Garden hotel as I left and workman were putting up the lights in Seven Dials as I walked in bright sunshine up to Soho for my meeting with Emily.
Another coffee with her and I was pleased to hear about her new job at the BBC. All very exciting. I then had lunch at a cafe in Fitzrovia before going as planned to the shared workspace that FM have an interest in, only to find that I was not allowed in! Which left me lumbered with the suitcase and three hours before I was meeting HB.
I was meeting her on the South Bank so I went there and sat in the National Theatre, tea but no charger so I moved to the BFI which was much better as I found a seat near a charger and they took my wheely case in which was very liberating.
We saw the Almodóvar film The Room Next Door which was a very odd theatrical melodrama starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore. We couldn’t get on with the tone of it, especially the stilted dialogue and I’m afraid to say we sniggered quite a lot.
Henry gave me a pretty little vintage brooch for my birthday which I adore!
Pleased to be home by about 10.
