Our patch
It was a lovely sunny breezy day today. We went to the Torquay Museum Society lecture this morning, which was given by Janet Choules, and entitled ‘the USA through the eyes of its favourite artist - Norman Rockwell’. Marvellous. Really well done. What a prolific and talented man. My dad used to be given copies of the Saturday Evening Post by someone he worked with, and Rockwell’s paintings were frequently on the cover, so the talk also brought back memories . That’s the artist in the extra but no examples of his work. Easy to find on the web.
Later It was still a great day for being outside so we walked from our patch at Preston to Goodrington. There were about 70 turnstones above the rocks at high tide which is more than usual. Last night we went to Poets and Pints again at Totnes. An enjoyable evening, feeling hip at the Barrel House.
