Tunnel

I've volunteered to run the Impressions Group part of the Bridport Camera Club (never volunteer!) so I had better sharpen my own products.  This is one of my favourite avenues of trees, the lane down to West Axnoller.  It's the valley of the river Axe, when it's quite small, but I had to look up the etymology of the name – 

"'Alder-tree by the R. Axe', from OE  alor and the river-name in its oblique form Axan"
– which is interesting, as I would have taken the stem to be either noller or ax. The lane leads to a large estate, part of which is a wedding venue – not nearly as interesting as the avenue would suggest.
