Fiery Kindness
Blipcentral informed me this morning (well, not just me, obviously) that it was World Kindness Day.
My natural cynicism would lead me to scoff at such a notion, however, having been on Blip for a while now, I know for a fact that is the nicest place on the internet due to the proliferation of thoughtful and yes, KIND personages.
I took this out into the world with me today and applied it in a stereotypical fashion, by helping a lady who was struggling with her sleeping infant-inhabited pushchair up a LOT of steps. I was starting to regret it halfway up, but between us we got there and I didn’t even ask for payment. Kindness box: ticked!
In between times, I cadged a brew from a friend and made one for the chimney sweep who did a cracking job. It was not without a little pleasure that I lit the fire this afternoon and worked alongside it’s warmth.
I would have liked to have squeezed in a nap, but the neighbouring workmen put paid to that. I’ve noticed a few people mentioning naps lately. I genuinely believe that if everyone napped for just a few minutes each day, we’d all be better off for it. This article by those more learned than me (basically everyone) would seem to agree…
