A place in the sun
might be just what's wanted for
a break in one's day

Coffee was 7:30 this morning as the sun peeked over the Gila Mountains. I waited a bit before heading off with my camera. I was hoping the clean-up crew might arrive this morning, but no.
Yesterday, during my art club's meeting at the library, I heard that the little park beside the library was now in use. It has been designated as a Gold Star Memorial By-Way, the only one in Arizona. A Gold Star family is one that has lost a close family member during military service.
The park was officially opened just after I left for home last March. It has a playground area, two ramadas with picnic tables, a restroom and a circular walkway. Part of the playground equipment has a cover against the heat of the sun, something I never see at home.
The park is to expand to include a dog park, additional ramadas and an all-inclusive play ground area. This is the first major park in the Foothills area.
As the Foothills continues to grow, this recreation space will become even more important. Presently, the Foothills has about 30,000 residents which is like a small city on its own. My only complaint with the park would be its close proximity to the I-8. I find it rather noisy.
I'm in for the day and will entertain myself with some housework, then with YouTube.
