Math work

I figured I should take some photos of the Montessori tools that the kids use. The bead bars are used for all sorts of math. Each color corresponds to a number of beads on a bar. The kids start in pre-k learning the colors and different counting patterns. The special ones are the golden beads which are 10s. This student was working on 47 x 7. I would need a lesson on exactly how to use the mat as it makes sense to me down to the last line. 
Luckily, as paraprofessionals we do get lessons periodically on how to use the Montessori materials.
