Chippenham River Festival

The Chippenham River Festival was a scaled down affair this year - only one day instead of two and noticeably fewer stands. Apparently it had been on the verge of cancellation until the Council stepped in with some funding. My reason for attending was to see the birds of prey display but it seemed to have been one of the casualties.

Jake Holmes - Dazed and Confused (1967)
Wrongs Righted #4: It is no accident that Led Zeppelin's Dazed And Confused sounds a lot like the song of the same name by Jake Holmes. He was the support act for the Yardbirds in New York on their final American tour when Jimmy Page was their lead guitarist and he adapted it for the group. A version by the Yardbirds is available on a live album, when it went by the title I'm Confused, originally with no composer credit, but credited to 'Holmes, arranged Yardbirds', on its CD re-issue in 1990.
The Led Zeppelin version, though, was credited solely to Jimmy Page. He had used the title, written new lyrics, and modified the melody, but the song's arrangement stayed markedly similar to The Yardbirds version of the previous year.
In June 2010, Jake Holmes filed a lawsuit in alleging copyright infringement and naming Page as a co-defendant, and it is thought the matter was settled out of court. The 2012 live Zeppelin album Celebration Day credits "Page; inspired by Jake Holmes", although the writer credit with the publishers remains unchanged.
