Catching the golden light.15.38.In the garden.

It is now 16:05 and the light is fast fading.
Beautifully sunny autumnal day.,
Stephen stripped my bed, which is Super King sized one with two singles zipped together and then covered in the correct size of bedding,
I am very toasty each night now under the winter tog duvet.
The washing was hung out by him at 10:00am as I finished the process of my morning régime, which takes quite awhile but I determined at the outset when I was back from hospital to do as much as I could do for myself. So it takes longer but builds confidence. It’s a question of sssembling all the necessary bits and pieces which takes longer using crutches.
I have various bits of useful equipment for this process.
( I researched quite a few on Amazon.) There are all kinds of things out there. I find my most useful thing is a long handled grabber stick for when I drop anything. And it comes in useful for removing the surgical white knee length socks pre having a shower!
It does not however assist me in putting them back on!
I can only bend so far at the moment as the hip heals.
So his nibs has the deep joy of putting them back on for me. Anyone who has had several weeks of having to wear them will know what a relief it is to finally be rid of them! All tips out there gratefullly received!
A friend of mine, Ros, from up the road came this afternoon for a catch-up, we enjoyed chatting and having a cuppa. (She would have made it, but Stephen was here).
We’ve been neighbour and friends since our Matt was 5 years old in 1981 when we moved up here from Portsmouth, Our children at the school opposite, we were then mothers at the school gate stage.
After she left to go and do a bit of shopping, I went for a tour in the garden, (where else! ) and briefly looked Into the summerhouse, It was still holding warmth from the sun.
As I meandered my way back to the house this lovely golden light was highlighting my Magnolia Stellata, and next door’s Pampas grass fronds,
Then catching the leaves on the Liquid Amber,
I just stood and looked………..
Teatime soon,
The news doesn’t get any better………
