Out and about
A morning of picking up a few mural shots for ArtUK, on the way to do a food shop.
At one point I was engrossed in working out how to capture a mural that's in a tiny, narrow side street. A shout came from across the road - not the "what are you doing??" that I sometimes encounter, but two old friends saying hi on their way to the local bakery. We last saw each other on our shared week away on Anglesey in late August, when their daughter joined us with her partner and 7 week old twins. A quick chat revealed that the new parents and the twins are all doing well, now settled in Los Angeles (her partner is American). We didn't mention the T word, perhaps saving that for a different conversation. But we did agree to fix up a date for dinner together.
There's a sideways glimpse of the mural in the extra. It's by the artist Phlegm, who's made many striking murals in and around the city (and beyond). He is @phlegm_art on Instagram.
