Simone

Here's Simone, soon after surfacing from a morning nap.
She and I are continuing to get to know each other. Today's big achievement (for me) was managing to get her off to sleep later in the monring, when she'd become a bit tired and grouchy.  Copying Jack and Marianna's technique worked out all right: this involved holding her, while bouncing her gently up and down and murmuring 'shh... shh...'  Once she'd dozed off, I laid her down gently and that was it for a little while.
In other news... it was good to hear, today, that the UK Supreme Court has declared our government's inhumane plans to export asylum seekers to Rwanda to be illegal. I am also glad to see that a lot of Labour MPs, and quite a few shadow ministers, rebelled against the leadership line and instead supported the SNP's call for a ceasefire in the Israel/Hamas war.  The reports from Gaza continue to be heartbreaking.
