Big Wheel
I was feeling very weary when I got to the office. I was feeling tired, but I also knew it was going to be a very long day.
It was yet another busy day, and so was also trying to catch up with a few things that have been hanging over me. Just as I was about to pop out to buy a sandwich, we got an email which indicated that we might have to work at the weekend. I was furious. My boss was furious with something yesterday, so I channeled her anger.
I came back and had a chat with her, she wasn’t delighted at the prospect either, and agreed to speak to senior colleagues. In the middle of the afternoon I was set a task by colleagues who were not in the office, to get a letter signed and to the post room before it closed. I made it with one minute to spare. We don’t send many real letters anymore, but they wanted this to be signed for. I was happy to help. The hardest part was finding an envelope!!
I had a meeting to attend which didn’t start until 17:45. There were some big names there, and Having been key to organising it at very short notice, I was relieved that it went well and to plan. I got back to the office at 7pm.
I had just enough time to tidy up, pack my bag, and get to the bus stop. Unlike Tuesday when my bus was early, tonight’s was twenty minutes late. I met the same friend as last night, so we continued our chat.
I was pleased that TT had found some fish cakes in the freezer for tea. I had a very quick walk, then was ready for bed.
Edinburgh is being turned into a theme park again.
