How many shopping days to Christmas?

This year people on the Isle of Lewis , one of Scotland’s most  northerly islands,  will be able for the first time to enjoy shopping on Sunday from November 17.
 
Yes, Tesco will open in Stornoway despite an online petition of 1,800. 

Today has been taken up with decluttering the garage so we can get our car in before the snow and ice arrive next week.
Oh yes and taking stuff to “the dump” or as it’s known these days the Household Waste and Recycling Centre. You can no longer just turn up with a load of stuff. A slot must be booked online. (What if you are not computer literate? Tough.)
 Yes, you can get hold of a real person during office hours during the week provided you are prepared to press buttons until you hit the jackpot and get a real person.
Patience is required. Better make a cup of tea.
