Square life
After the excitement of yesterday, neither of us slept very well. Mr A was so "off it" that not only had he had no wine the previous evening despite the availability of his favourite drink (as well as virtually no food), but he didn't even properly want his breakfast this morning. That is almost unheard of.
I struggled on, and walked up the Law Faculty building for the meeting (LERU law deans, for the record) via Placa de la Concordia which supplied my blip with a nice piece of gentle "street" or "square life".
At lunchtime, I returned to the hotel, and after a while we walked down to the Peatonal, beloved of Bb and Dd. Initially, the father and son combo were reluctant to give us a table. They were full. That was until we mentioned the magic words: "we're friends of Bb and Dd". Oh, in that case, please wait ten minutes and we will find you a table. So we sat outside with a beer (well, two beers) and waited for a table to clear. No one, least of all the people who were finishing their lunches, was in any hurry. That was fine by us. For these northern Europeans, it was just pleasant to be able to sit outside in mid November and enjoy a beer.
Late lunch accomplished (I can report that Mr A had got his appetite back and his lunch included a dessert), we wandered back to the hotel and frankly my exhaustion took over and I was in my PJs very very early, fit for nothing else at all.
