After the Rain…..

We had a small amount of rain overnight. Last month I recorded the highest amount of rainfall since our family started recording amounts over thirty years ago. I have a rain gauge and a special chart for the recordings. The large amount of October rain greatly benefited the native plantings along the river berms. Here, on the banks of Doctors Creek, some flaxes are already flowering and others are still in bud. I find it a fascinating pastime observing the seasonal changes of plants and trees, indeed our environment.
