Whirling Butterflies

Gaura which I grew from seed and which has only now produced some flowers. The blooms are very welcome and I hope that the plant will gather strength over the winter and get going a bit earlier next year. I like gaura in the garden but I find it a short lived plant. 

A morning of pottering before going to a memorial service this afternoon. It's being held locally and will, I think, be well attended. A friend and I have been invited and I'm glad we're going together. It's a sad story of someone who was becoming a friend and who died far too young. I wish I'd had the opportunity to get to know her better and for longer. 

Later, for a complete change of mood, the girls are coming through for the switch on of the Stirling Ch******s lights (already) and then for something to eat here.
