Female Goosander

The goosanders were on the river today - I saw a good number of both male and female. This one was using the incoming tide to move quickly upstream. 

Had a reasonable walk this morning on the Gowan Hill. Haven't been there for ages. Bumped into neighbours and walked with them for a while. Otherwise a fairly quiet day. 

Yesterday's memorial was a lovely, informal event. K had been a humanist celebrant and her elder son did a very good job of talking about his mum. There were people from all aspects of her varied life and a lot of emotion. I was glad of the girls' lively excitement afterwards.
