Friends of...
...Ham!
Caught the bus into Huddersfield this morning, and then a train to Leeds, timing the journey so as to avoid any of the buses masquerading as trains. (Almost a third of the 'trains' on the train timetable to and from Leeds are actually buses at present. They take a very long time to reach their destination!)
Started off with something I dislike - clothes shopping - but was reasonably successful today. Bought some thermal socks in M&S, and also some jeans as they had some in stock in the style I wanted, in the right size and, most importantly, short! Walked to Seasalt where I treated myself to a lovely bright stripy winter jumper that I'd seen on their website. The sleeves are just a tiny bit long, but nothing new there! Wandered around more shops after that trying to find inspiration for Christmas gifts, but failed miserably. I was distracted for a while when passing the Apple shop. Very few people in it, so I couldn't resist popping in for 10 minutes to play with look at some of the smart watches...
Last stop was Friends of Ham, where I met Lucy for lunch. Not a place for the vegans among us, as they serve the most delicious meats and cheeses. We stayed vegetarian, and enjoyed some delicious cheeses with sourdough and olives, and each had a cheeky glass of wine, followed by coffee. Lovely to see Lucy - we must do it more often!
All too soon it was time to catch the train home, while Lucy cycled back to her abode. A good day!
