Last of the grapes
I find that my blipfoto journal sometimes plays a role in measuring time and making comparisons.
Most years I have marked when the vine in our conservatory shows its first bud. I have also recorded on occasion the swelling of the grapes and what we call our "indoor autumn" when the leaves start to fall , and then get encouraged by Cathleen to do it quicker !
This year our first bud was on the second of March, and today marked the cutting of the last edible bunch of grapes (one or two have rotted or withered on the vine). The indoor autumn is now also well advanced.
Another annual round is the late year delivery of wood pellets for our boiler and room heater. They came on Friday (as my extra photo shows) and we put them away in the shed today
This load will last until mid February at leat I think , though a really cold winter might mean quicker consumption, and there was ice on the cars this morning.
