Sally Mair - Loving life

What's the chance?

I'm not holding out much hope for any fruit from this alpine strawberry although, having said that, the raspberries are still producing fairly prolifically. I fear the weather forecast over the next few days will do for any hope of this little plant fruiting though.
With the forecast frost/possible snow in mind, I picked lots of sweet peas today and took a bunch to an elderly member of the congregation. She's known me since I was 6 and I'm very fond of her! I took her a bunch in August and she was very surprised that they were still going strong.
Sunday today and we held our church AGM after the service. All went smoothly, most were re-elected and a couple of new faces were added to the mix too. I've got my volunteers for Christingle organising and preparing so that's good too.
This afternoon we hunted the church cupboards for the Advent Crown, that's going to be needed in a couple off weeks, all we have to find now is the set of Nativity Figures, We've found the knitted set, which we'll put in the children's area, but we want the original set too. Things get complicated when Rectors leave.
Delicious Waitrose Chicken Kievs for dinner tonight, just right on a chilly night when we've got all draughts blocked and all doors tightly closed.
Hope nobody has too many problems from the forecast winter showers. I'm not ready yet!
