Sisters
I got up early to continue with the Blurb book and sure enough, the offer came through with 50% off till midnight. Lisa, the fun friend I made on the boat, had sent me the PDFs the ship had sent her. I wanted to use their maps and managed to convert the files to JPEG and download to my photos then insert on the relevant pages in Blurb.
Lisa and John are from Chicago and are so sick about Trump they are applying for jobs in London. John has a UK passport through his dad. They don’t expect to get Anywhere but they feel better trying.
We drove up to Duns to have lunch with my oldest friend Jenny who is staying a few days with her sister. Elspeth cooked us a delicious lunch of Kosheri from Ottolenghi and a Mary Berry pudding. It was a kind of cake with pears and toffee sauce. This appealed to Mr C who has a sweet tooth. I got the recipe so if he behaves himself I might make it when we have others in the house too.
We called up there for a few bags of coal as we can’t get the good stuff now. It’s only sold in Scotland which doesn't yet have the same strict rules about smokeless. We’ll need plenty heat tonight as it was 0 degrees all day.
One last check for typos and I’ll upload the Arctic book. My VistaPrint family calendars arrived today. They look great.
