We arrived

After our champagne in Charles de Gaulle the 6 hours passed well enough and we got away on Kenyan airlines to Niarobi for the overnight flight to Niarobi.
The most recent films were so old we’d seen them on video cassettes. The food was as expected - soggy veg and mushy rice. Sleep was a few shot dozes. We had a 7 hour wait in Jomo Kenyatta so we paid for 3 hours in a lounge and got some fruit and croissant and slept in comfy chairs for a couple of hours before our on-going 3 hour flight to Antananarivo, Madagascar. We had many forms to complete for the visa, Covid regs etc but it didn’t matter as our Explore guide arrived an hour after we came out. One of the most amusing was one for nationality - there were 10 to choose from, including Belgian, but British was not on the list. We are a small unimportant country for sure.

It was only a short drive to the hotel where there was only time to put our stuff in our room before dinner. I had lentil soup which was very tasty. The guide Harri or Arri told us a lot about the 192 varieties of lemur but everyone was too tired to take any of it in.

The hotel is basic but we did have power points to charge up our phones etc. Our room was fine though very dark. Electricity is in short supply and expensive.

Our big boob is we forgot to get equipped with malaria tablets. We hope to get to a pharmacy and buy some on Monday. What a pair of dopes. You’d think with our experience we’d have been more prepared. At least we have DEET.

The blip is the towel rail.
