A hot and lazy day in Playa Blanca.

Our main 'job' was nipping down the local shops at lunchtime for a few essentials, it seemed just plain rude not to call in somewhere for refreshments and sustenance whilst we were down there. Then I decided to check out the communal pool on the residential development where we're staying. The pool at the villa is all well and good but it's small and good for cooling off and all but it's not really a pool for swimming as such. The communal pool is much larger, you can swim lengths, proper lengths, I may well make it A Daily Thing. What with that and the eight days bike hire that starts on Wednesday I may even go home in better shape than I arrived ...or at least it will help to stave off all the tapas and beer and cava and ...you get the drift, holidays innit!

A night in at the villa beckons. Watermelon, feta, lime and coriander salad will feature. As will backgammon and Louis Theroux's podcasts with Nick Cave and Tracey Emin. Started the Tracey one earlier, keen to listen after reading one of her books yesterday, is she unguarded or is she unguarded?
