Christmas Owl

Last night it rained, and when we awoke,  the garden looked quite sodden. Then we noticed a Grey Wagtail flitting around the pond looking for tasty morsels.. I recalled seeing one here last winter and discovered from my blip journal it was almost a year to the day(21st Nov)!
We invited my Mum's old neighbours in for coffee and a catch-up. It's always good for see them.
Then we took two loads of rubbish from the garage to the recycling centre.  We were especially relieved to get rid of a couple of old fluorescent tubes,  many cans of ancient inflammable paints, varnish, and cleaning agents, as well as two Calor gas cannisters, all hoarded by my father over decades!
This evening we had a good meal out in our favourite local Indian restaurant in nearby Northwood. Seeing this owl, one of several perched in their Christmas tree, reminded me I have heard Tawny Owls calling at night recently, both here and at home.
