Double trouble...
It was John's 87th birthday on Saturday so we'd arranged to pick him and Norma up at 12.30 and take them out for lunch.
While I was getting ready my mobile phone rang with a number I didn't recognise. I almost didn't answer but in the end I did, and I am so thankful I did. It was the gynaecologist I've been seeing for four years but who's been off work for almost a year. She's now back and catching up with her patients.
We discussed what's been happening with me over the last year and my appointments, in her absence, with two of her colleagues. To cut a long story short, she is in agreement with them and me, that surgery (a full hysterectomy) is the way forward. Hallelujah!!!! It won't be her doing the surgery but one of her colleagues, who she described as "the absolute best." Now that she knows I am in agreement she will speak to him to take things forward. She didn't say when the surgery will take place but I am hoping by spring at the latest.
Picked John and Norma up and headed to the restaurant. It was so lovely to see them as it's been a while. They were both on good form and full of fun. They are remarkable for 87 and 88 (Norma still calls John her toyboy :-) They have a lovely weekend away booked for next weekend in a nice hotel in the Highlands. I hope the snow stays away and doesn't stop them getting there.
Dropped them off and headed home to be back in time for Alan's hydrotherapy session. D was going in the pool with him today along with Blake so he (Alan) was looking forward to that. As was D :-)
Still full after lunch so just toast for supper. Also finished crocheting the daisy granny squares for the second baby blanket so hoping to start joining them tomorrow, although I've got someone coming to clean the living room carpet, an engineer coming to (hopefully) fix the tumble drier and one of D's golf pals coming for lunch before he and D head to Gleneagles to hopefully get a round on the 9 hole course.
I'm exhausted just thinking about it all!
